Take care of the quality of your sewing work down to the last detail

When a sewing job is done, hours are spent on it. Normally, everything begins with the design of what is going to be done and the purchase of the materials to carry out the entire process. At this point, you have to be very careful because sometimes we put a lot of emphasis on buying a good fabric, but then we neglect the rest of the materials. And saving a few euros on the rest of the material can make our work lose quality or even spoil in a short time.

We have a good example in the threads and cords that serve as adornment in some tasks. Make sure you buy a very good quality thread that won’t rot or break easily. Also, buy products with guarantees, such as those offered by a distributor of non-shrink cord. If you put an ornamental cord on your curtains and the first wash they shrink, you can imagine what they will look like and you will have thrown away all the work done and also the money invested in the curtains.

Zippers can also be the weak point of a sewing project. It is true that they can be expensive, especially if they are large. But worse is that shortly after having made a skirt or pants you have to go back to work on it to change the zipper because it has been damaged or stuck. They say that in the end the poor pay twice and in this case the reason for this saying is very clear. By saving maybe a couple of bucks the first time, you end up not only buying two zippers, first the cheap one and then the expensive one, but also spending twice as much time.

A major mistake in sewing is when you buy a poor quality lining. A lining that is not good can shrink and make all the work for nothing. You will need to unsew it again and re-cut and sew a new lining in order to wear the dress. In addition to the disappointment that you will have if you want to release your piece of clothing on a specific day, you will have to spend money again and start over from scratch with this work.

As you can see, neglecting the quality of the details is not worth it, so make sure that when you buy the materials for your work, you buy the right ones.
